Travelers of the Friendship Train Arrive to Erzurum and Open the Child Museum Room!

21 April 2011 - Travelers of the Friendship Train arrived in Erzurum in the morning and they were welcomed by the children of Erzurum. At the arrivla ceremony, children from Erzurum welcomed the train with folklor dances and chorus performances. During the arrival ceremony, the Governor of Erzurum, Sebahattin Öztürk made a speech that underlined the importance of the role of children for protecting cultural heritage. After the opening ceremony, all children walked to the museum for the Child Museum Room opening ceremony.

20 April 2011, ANKARA - The 3rd International Symposium on Children at Risk and in Need of Protection was launched in Ankara today with the opening speeches of Müslüm Sayli from the Turkish National Police, parliamentarian Halide İncekara and UNICEF Turkey Representative Dr. Ayman Abulaban.

Friendship Train leaves Ankara

19 April 2011, ANKARA - Children from SHCEK and officials and academicians from Ankara were present at the Ankara Train station to bid Farewell to the Friendship Train. During the Farewell ceremony, children performed folk dances and the Police Harmony Orkestrate played popular Turkish songs. Ankara Culture Director Dogan Acer and the president of Ankara University Cemal Talug made speeches that emphasized the importance of culture and history, as well as friendship as they sent children to Sivas with the Frendship Train.

Eskişehir Welcomes the Friendship Train Travelers with Carnations!

18 April 2011, Eskisehir - Passengers of the Peace and Friendship Train received a warm welcome from Eskişehir yesterday evening despite the cold weather and heavy rain. The children of Eskisehir, carrying placards with the slogans 'Children also exist', 'Every child has the right to live' and 'Children need good examples more than advice,' distributed carnations to all the passengers.

Travellers explore the culture and history of Sivas

21 April 2011, Sivas - The Friendship Train travellers joined local children from local schools for a festival of local culture and music in the grounds of the Sivas Archaeological Museum on Wednesday afternoon. The entertainment was provided by folk singers Hasan and Emre Işık from the White Moon Association, by the bards Aşık Kaftani and Aşık Eseri, by the Buruciye Hearing-Impaired Folk Dancde Troupe and by children in the care of the provincial Child Protection Agency.
