UNICEF is celebrating the 20 November Child Rights Day with the 12th Children’s Forum and Conference on Information and Communication Technologies and Children and Youth of Turkey.

During the 12^th Children’s Forum, 162 children/young people from 81 provinces of Turkey discussed ICT opportunities and risks from their own perspective. They tried to identify opportunities and risks for children and youth, gaps in legislation and strategies to address them, and future steps related to ICT technologies.

The Conference on Information and Communication Technologies and Children and Youth of Turkey, organized by UNICEF Turkey and the Ministry of Family and Social Policies under the auspices of the Turkish Grand National Assembly brought together experts from academia, public institutions, government, parliament, NGOs and the private sector. They discussed the digital landscape in Turkey and come up with recommendations to feed the government action plan, list possible strategies, legislative suggestions, and potential partnerships with the private sector and civil society.

On November 23, a closing ceremony was organized at the Turkish Grand National Assembly Ceremony Hall with the participation of girls and boys from 81 provinces, Ankara M.P. Prof. Dr. Cevdet Erdöl, UNICEF Turkey Representative  Dr. Ayman Abulaban,  Family and Social Policies Minister Fatma Şahin and under the auspices of Turkish Grand National Assembly Speaker Cemil Çiçek where the outcomes of both meeting were shared.
